clayton’s thank you cards

Last October, had you asked me who my favorite wedding photographers were, you would have gotten some of the answers many people I know give: Amelia Lyon (and that cool West Coast vibe), Jasmine Star (probably the best business woman in wedding photography), and a few others.  But there was a recent addition to the list that most of my friends hadn't had the pleasure of seeing yet.Clayton Austin. I can't remember where I first saw...

out of the studio | walt cannoy

So. Here's the thing: I've known Walt for a little while now and seen most of the images of his work he puts on facebook and his website. But tonight.  Tonight I saw them in person.  On a wall.  Walt's part of the current exhibition at Arts on the Park in Lakeland, Florida. And his work absolutely floored me. Seriously.  He's not paying me to write this.Walt's work is absolutely breathtaking and should not be missed.  The prices that he...

style

I just read a great article on style from a somewhat surprising source.  Peter Shankman's Clothing Helps Make The Style. Style Helps Makes Your Brand is an insightful look into the realities of our ever casual world.  While Peter's talking specifically about fashion (men's fashion, nonetheless - one of my favorite subjects), the concept applies to all the ways we interface with one another; stationery included.  Check out Peter's simple rules:1) Good style never goes out...

business card | ashton events

I was thrilled for the opportunity to work with my friend Laura at Ashton Events to create her business card.  She came to me with a great logo (and wonderful website, too!) and asked for a killer card to go with it.This standard-sized card is printed on Crane's 220# Lettra (their thickest) and is mighty cool, if I say so myself.  The two-color design was augmented by a half-tone treatment of the word "events," which...

spotted in the “wild”

This weekend, we visited the Tampa Bridal Showcase, hosted by Monica of Elan Event Studio.  It was a chance to see a couple of our pieces out in the "wild" of a bridal show. This great photo display from 12-1 Photography included our laser-engraved wood nameplate, mounted on hand-hammered metal. We also did menus and placecards for MMD Events and ELD for their modern grey and purple table display.  Love the table number Lauren put together for...
