save the dates

Save the Dates are an important aspect of any destination or multi-day wedding.  They're also important if a substantial portion of your guestlist will be travelling to your local wedding.  There's all sorts of advice about save the dates available and some of it is great.  Some of it's not worth the keystrokes that brought it to your monitor, though. I'm a firm believer of the "put yourself in your guests' shoes" policy.  If you treat...

a little inspiration

Last night I had a friend sent a quick message about a project she'd like to get moving on and my mind immediately went to these images.  We didn't discuss if bicycles (or penny farthings) would play a part; that's just the first thing you'd think of when you think of her.  Well, it's the first thing I'd think of.What do you think?...

state of the art | quilling

State of the Art is our not-so-regular series where we highlight the work of those in our industry who knock our socks off.  We are proud to be part of such a vibrant, creative industry and strive to create work as excellent as that which we highlight here. the national stationery show | what we missed

If you, like me, missed the National Stationery Show in New York last week, you clearly missed some amazing products and people!  I've spent the last week living vicariously through the amazing posts of several wonderful blogs and wanted to share them with you. (post-publication links are in italics) Invitation Buzz had the first post I saw from the show.  They followed it up with five more really great posts. (and perhaps my favorite, an ode...

here’s an idea: QR invitations

Who says the bleeding edge of the 15th century doesn't jive with the bleeding edge of today? OK, so maybe QR codes aren't exactly bleeding edge anymore, but they certainly aren't mainstream yet.  When I saw this post at Everyday Correspondence, I got to thinking about the use of QR in  letterpressed invitations. It would be easy to create a QR code that direct attendees to your wedding's website to RSVP or plan for a destination affair....

business cards | and they will know us by our paper trail

Our business cards just arrived from Jazy Rain and we couldn't be happier! Because we're not content to conform, we chose a 2.5" x 2.5" format and opted for about as little information as we could get away with (although, just the logo mark might have been cool, if not a bit cryptic). We chose the industry standard Crane Lettra 110#in Flourescent White.  We'll probably go for the 220# on the next go-round.  In the...
