I don’t know whether to feel better or worse:
I recently stumbled on the work of Eiko Ojala, and Estonian artist whose papercuts are otherworldly. I’ve been toying with the idea of doing a series about all the cool things people are doing with paper and this seemed like a perfect way to start us off. That is, until I learned no trees were harmed in the making of this work.
Ojala’s papercuts are actually digital illustrations! His work is so good, I don’t know if I’d be more impressed that it’s digital or if it were actually paper.
Nonetheless, it’s simply breathtaking work.
