That’s why I was thrilled to hear about Ron Mueck’s show at the National Gallery of Victoria.
If that name sounds familiar, it’s likely that you’re familiar with his figurative sculptures. They’ve been highlighted in dozens of outlets in the last few years.
Having originally seen the figurative works isolated in photos, it never occurred to me the scale at which Mueck was working.
The publicity photos from Mass immediately betray the scale. These skulls require your attention. They make their presence known.
Perhaps a trip to Melbourne is in order?
