It only occurred to me recently that, during the recent re-design of my website, I left out one of my favorite projects from my portfolio. I joined a few friends in creating an environment  for Every Last Detail‘s style dictionary.

The venue, a century-old home under renovation, proved an excellent opportunity for me to make a point I had been wanting to make: Acrylic invitations don’t have to be ultra-glitzy. Don’t get me wrong, I love some ultra-clean laser-engraved clear acrylic. But that’s not all there is to the medium.

This was a chance to explore the raw-er side of acrylic and work with a faux bois pattern. This is a material you may have experienced often throughout your childhood, as it made its way to the nameplate of many a classroom entrance or Doctor’s door.

It was a lovely chance to work with some of my favorite people and make something pretty magical.

And I even managed to sneak into a few shots. How cool is that?!
