Music Mondays: because life’s better with a soundtrack.
If you knew me as a teenager, you knew Joy Electric. Some days I wonder how in the world I came to be obsessed with such a strange little one-man-band. Other days, it makes sense that I sought to love what I perceived as unloved from an early age. I knew every single lyric and had no one to share my joy with. No one I knew could even tolerate the music. And in an early-internet time, there were days when I felt completely alone in my love.
But, oh what rapture a Joy Electric concert was!
Monosynth represents classic early Joy Electric, but I strongly recommend checking out later albums like My Grandfather, the Cubist.
What’s your under-appreciated pleasure? What band do you love that no one else does?
