I love type. X-height and kerning make me a giggly inside. I know, I’m weird.
I really love typefaces and typography, but I’m not a huge fan of most books the subject has begotten. See, most History of Type-type books are incredibly boring. There’s all sorts of great information in them, but they’re just plain old hard to read.
Then came this.
I purchased Just My Type (amazon affiliate link) just a couple days ago and am already nearly done. It’s an incredibly interesting, irreverent read on the history and principles of type. It’s the perfect book for any designer (the Holidays are coming) and would prove an entertaining read for even the most in-the-know typophile.
Do yourself (or a loved one) a favor and purchase a copy of Just My Type. Trust me; you’ll be glad you did.
Thanks for the recommendation! I’m totally unbalanced in my love for fonts — I get goosebumps when I find a new awesome one. This looks awesome.
