pass the envelope, please | awards envelopes

by | Aug 10, 2012 | Letterpress

I’m blessed to be in the company of some pretty amazing and ridiculously creative people. Many of those amazing friends are ones I’ve met through our local chapter of the American Advertising Federation. They’re an incredible group of people and throw a mean party.

Our most recent ADDY (our version of the GRAMMYs or TELLYs) gala was a Clue-style murder mystery at the art museum. We took care of the awards envelopes, carrying the theme and visual elements out in black letterpress and red wax.

These award envelopes were printed for the top prize in each category. I think we did a good job of creating a piece the recipient would hold on to along with their trophy (an engraved magnifying glass). The event logo was letterpress printed on the outside, lending a tactile sensation in both impression and ink texture, while the categories and winners were digitally printed (our budget wasn’t unlimited, you know).

The wax seal with the AAF logo added to the ceremony of presentation and prevented prying eyes from sneaking a peak.

This is the kind of project we love doing. It’s something that the recipient associates with good feelings (in this case, winning) and gave up an opportunity to approach the challenge of turning something disposable into a keepsake.

If your event needs stationery they won’t throw away, contact us to discuss how we can wow you.
