We create stationery that demands attention. The kind of experience that interrupts and delights your people. The kind that gets noticed. But it’s not enough to be noticed. We craft experiences that will be remembered. Stationery that people not only want to keep, but are proud to display.
Form doesn’t have to follow function. We believe a visual vocabulary is key to engaging emotions while fulfilling a function. Whether you have a brand guide, mood board, or single inspiration image, having a style starting point is key to impactful stationery.
Function, Emotion, and Vocabulary provide a framework for our process of exploration and allow us to craft engaging, memorable stationery. It may be tempting for you to work ahead – to make decisions about design and materials, printing methods and wording. That inevitably leads to lackluster results and less impactful stationery.
Trust the soup.
Matthew, you’re singing to my personal choir here. I’m a wedding planner and one of my mantras is “authenticity trumps trends” – love the trumps trends alliteration, but I digress. You summed up your POV beautifully when you said, “trends steal from us who we are.” My ultimate goal with every couple is to help them design a ceremony and reception that speaks to who they are as a couple; that’s how we create a day that is unique, meaningful and memorable. A challenge sometimes in this trend/Pinterest/style blog obsessed world. Great video post!
Christine, thanks so much for your kind words!
I think one of the reasons this is so important to me is that it’s such a personal struggle. I grew up trying my hardest to be one of the pack (though I never really was) and still wrestle with that need to be accepted. Following trends is the easy choice. Being bold, being daring, being me takes a lot more bravery.
