Music Mondays: because life’s better with a soundtrack.
I. LOVE. Tiny Desk Concerts.
It’s an NPR thing. I’m pretty sure you’ll dig TDC even if you don’t dig NPR. The stripped down, short format is a great retreat from the world. I find myself tuning in and checking out for fifteen minutes a couple times a week. It’s my musical meditation.
My favorite may very well be this one from tUnE-yArDs.
Here are a couple others I love:
The inimitable bassist Renaud Garcia-Fons. I can still remember the first time I heard him.
I’m not the hugest stand-up fan, but me loves some Reggie Watts
Trombone Shorty gets down.
Damien Jurado nay very well have written the soundtrack to my youth. His song “Ohio” still makes me cry.
Lionel Loueke ain’t no power chord rocker.
I really dig this stripped down sound from Passion Pit.
Inspite of what I might project, I’m not afraid of a little pop. Macklemore and Ryan Lewis’ energy here is infectious. Just plain ol’ goodness.
